My application has been accepted onto the Home2own register, what happens next?
This will depend on which products you have asked to be considered for.
In the case of Newbuild HomeBuy and Resales (shared ownership) housing associations and other developers will contact you as and when a suitable property is available for sale in the areas that you have indicated you would like to live, and which you can afford to purchase. When they have low cost home ownership properties available they will obtain information about suitable purchasers from the Home2own register. Sometimes there are restrictions on these properties which means that they can only be sold to people that have lived in the area for a qualifying period of time. Priority will also be given to tenants of social landlords. There are also occasions where the Housing Association will be working in partnership with the local authority and you may be required to be on their waiting list for rented accommodation in order to qualify for these properties.
If you have asked to be considered for Open Market HomeBuy one of the providers will contact you if they are able to progress further with this option.
Please note that we have been informed by the two providers that funding has run out for these products. Please check our website regularly for updates when we have been informed funding is available. Once funding is available the providers will continue to check applications and contact applicants who they believe are eligible.
If you have asked to be considered for First Time Buyer Initiative then you will be contacted by Home2own if you are eligible.
If you have asked to be considered for Social HomeBuy then please contact your social housing landord who will be able to advise if they are participating in this scheme.
If you have asked to be considered for HomeBuy Direct and Mortgage Rescue you will be contacted when the schemes are fully operational. Please continue to check our website, we keep this up to date on a daily basis.
Home2own, as the HomeBuy agent, is purely a register and does not own any properties. Some Housing Associations and developers advertise properties that they have available for purchase in the 'Property Search' section of the web site along with details of who to contact if you require more information. Click here to view the properties currently being advertised.
